Is bad really bad?

The reality of negative things happening all around us

Is bad really bad?

We often hear people complain about the terrible things going on all around them. As if the problems we have on our plates are not enough! In the frustration, there seems to be no hope and we conclude that the world is nothing but a pile of one problem after another. These challenges present themselves in different ways and various intensity. We are most times more than justified to grumble about certain conditions.

Trials build character by teaching us to;

Appreciate goodness

Would we know what is good if we did not know how bad it can be when something bad happens? Would you know how blessed you are and what opportunity you have, if you have always had it your way? We sometimes need these contrasts in life, in order to appreciate what comes our way.

Avoid future complications

Is it not the bad things in our lives that teach us not to repeat certain silly mistakes? Would you know what you should not do, if you have not watched it lead the others into disaster? Doesn´t the drive to avoid hardship surpass the far away hope to gain?

Sometimes -hard as it may sound- it takes something bad to happen, before we learn to be strong, hardworking, trust God and to make a right choices both for us and the people around us.

Approach matters.

Sometimes, Bad things are not really as crucial in determining the outcome as the way we approach them is. It is our mind set about challenges and tests that we need to change. How we handle a situation is very vital to how we will overcome. When a problem turns your way, do not ask for it to go away, but for the strength to go through it and solve it.  One Eleanor Roosevelt once said “Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be.” Your reaction, your thoughts, your actions about a situation really matter a lot.

Having a positive outlook towards predicaments

All things work for good…

Not too seldom do we wish we could wish our challenges away but have we taken the time to ask ourselves this simple question? What use is lamenting to us? Can something good come out of this seemingly hopeless situation? Could it be that if i saw the whole picture, what am faced with right now would not seem  as bad as it really appears? What does the Bible tell us about problems?

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28

All things work according to His will and purpose

Having this promise and remembering it despite all we have to put up with gives us the strength to go through anything because we know God is right there with us every step of the way. We should also remember that God has a plan. He will use every situation for his glory and to save us and his children.

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, – Ephesians 1:11

Be thankful in all situation

We might not understand what we are faced with at the moment. Sometimes it might seem like our trials are taking way too long. Or God is taking too long to come to our help. Let us not be dismayed. Help is on the way. We should believe this even when we do not see the reality of it in our lives. God is working behind the scenes and in due his great power will be manifested in our lives. But even if help does not come the way we expected it to, we should still have the maturity to praise God through everything because we know his purpose is good and his ways are righteous.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Pray about it

God is more than willing to listen to us and come to our rescue when we call upon his name. We should not fear to call upon his name. He is a loving and gentle God. He wants to help us but we have to let him.

In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. – Philippians 4:6

So if you are in a phase of life where you feel like you are pressed against the wall and the load of the problems in your life are weighing you down, pray with me this prayer.

Dear Lord,

You are greater than any situation that i am faced with. You knew all things before the beginning of time and know my heart. You know my situation Lord. Carry this burden from me oh Lord. Help me through this storm mighty father. You said in your word, that we should ask, and we shall receive. Father i ask you to move in my life. Heal my heart and make me strong. Teach me to wait on you as i trust you more and more oh Lord. Give me the faith to know that you are working even right now as i talk to you. Help me learn the lessons i am meant to learn in this season so that i might shine when i come out at the end of the tunnel. May my testimony be great and only unto you. Thank You for the work that has already began in my life.

In Jesus´mighty name i have prayed.

Amen

A carefree Life.

A carefree attitude 1As a child, there was a time when my answer to everything was “I do not know” oh yeah, that annoyed many, but in the real sense, I didn´t know what to pick when I was offered many varieties! So in the confusion of what could be the best, I decided to leave to choice for the adults! Ha-ha. That way, I had no stress, but now! Damn! Cannot say I do not know anymore!
